If you’re interested in applying for a posted position listed above under “Employment Opportunities”, please do one of the following prior to the posted closing date and time:

  • Complete and submit an on-line or digital Employment Application, or

  • Complete and submit a hard copy of the Employment Application (available at the Reception Desk of City Hall at 255 North Main Street Logan, Utah).

Please note that due to the large number of employment applications that we receive annually, we have elected to not send "Thank You" and "Confirmation" letters to each applicant.  We “Thank You” in advance for your interest in working for the City of Logan.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Applications


1. I’m interested in applying for more than one (1) position that’s posted. Can I use the same application for both positions?


No.  You must submit a separate employment application for each position that you’re applying for.

 

2. I'm interested in applying for a job that isn’t available at this time.  Can I still apply?

 

No.  Logan City only accepts Employment Applications for current openings. However, we do have a Job Interest Card that you may call and have us complete for you in advance of a position vacancy.  Then, when that specific position becomes available, we will attempt to notify you by mailing you the Job Interest Card. To have us complete a Job Interest Card for you, please e-mail your Name, Complete Address, and the specific Title of the Position that you’re interested in to a member of Human Resources and we will complete a Job Interest Card for you.

 

Although we will make every attempt to notify interested parties of job openings, through a Job Interest Card, we make no guarantees that you will be notified. It is each applicant’s responsibility to know when positions become available and to apply accordingly.  We recommend that applicants contact our Job Line (435-716-9040) or visit our Employment Opportunities on this web-site frequently.

 

3. What is Logan City's selection process?


  • Interviews are not conducted before the closing date.
  • The Human Resource department then creates a database of all applicants.
  • Applications are forwarded to the hiring department to be screened for minimum qualifications, experience, and other job related criteria.
  • Finalists are then invited to participate in the interview process and interviews are conducted. Please note that only a select number of individuals may receive invitations for interviews. We typically do not interview all applicants for any given job vacancy.
  • Following the interviews, an applicant is selected and a job offer is extended - contingent on the results of a post offer, pre-employment Background Check and Drug Screen.
  • All candidates who were interviewed, but were not extended a job offer, are sent a Letter of Appreciation for taking the time to interview with us.



Open Roster

Applications for positions with "Open Roster" listed as the deadline are received daily throughout the year in order to fill seasonal vacancies as they become available.  These positions may or may not have an available vacancy at the time a person submits an application.  Applications received for these positions are reviewed on an on-going basis by the hiring department and will be considered for each vacancy as they become available throughout the season up until the closing date.
