City Administration

The Administration Department of Logan City consists of the Economic Development division, the City Recorder, the Mayor, and the Justice Courts.

This department is the core of Logan City, so if you have any issue at all, then contact Teresa Harris, the City Recorder, (435) 716-9002, and she will be able to help you resolve it, or she'll be able to point you in the right direction.

Winter Overnight Parking Restrictions

As of November 15, 2014 Logan City Municipal Code 10.52.170 prohibits parking on the street between the hours of 1:00am and 6:00am. The purpose of this ordinance is to allow for snow removal from the street. To accommodate family members celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, no overnight parking tickets will be issued November 26-30 and December 24-31. Restrictions will remain in place until February 28, 2015. Please share this information with family and friends.

2014 Cache County Election Information Reminder

There will be NO polling place on election day because of the by-mail election. All ballots must be mailed no later than Monday, November 3, 2014.

The Cache County Council has approved all voting precincts as by-mail only precincts for the upcoming November 4, 2014 General Election. Your ballot will be automatically sent to you about four weeks before the election.

Please be aware that on Election Day there will be NO POLLING PLACE in your precinct.

Proposed Tax Increase

The City of Logan is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.

- The City of Logan tax on a $188,000 residence would increase from $220.86 to $224.48, which is $3.62 per year.

- The City of Logan tax on a $188,000 business would increase from $401.57 to $408.15, which is $6.58 per year.

If the proposed budget is approved, City of Logan would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 0.75% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding new growth.

All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing on the tax increase.

Logan City Cultural Arts Grant

Grant applications are being accepted for funding approved by the Logan Municipal Council in the City's 2014-2015 budget to assist in the support of the arts. Sponsorship is planned to support local art events and performing groups, including but not limited to: music, dance, theatre, crafts and visual, folk and literary art, for the purpose of educating and enriching the lives of Logan residents. Criteria for funding distribution is available upon request. Funding recommendations are made to the Mayor by the Logan Fine Arts Committee.

Application deadline is 5:00 p.m., Friday August 1, 2014. Forms are available at the City Recorder’s Office, 290 North 100 West, Logan, Utah, 435-716-9002 during regular office hours or here.

2014 Downtown Façade Program

The City of Logan is pleased to offer a grant program intended to stimulate investment in downtown building façades. The program is designed to assist rehabilitation projects of varying scope. These may range from smaller painting, lighting, or awning replacement projects to the more extensive storefront modifications or complete façade overhauls. Property renovations may include efforts to enhance parking areas.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Please be aware that all Logan City offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2014 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. However, all commercial and residential garbage and recycling routes will maintain a normal collection schedule and the Logan City Landfill will be open for regular operating hours. 2013 Holiday Hours for Logan City Offices

All Logan City offices will close Tuesday, December 24, at 3:00 p.m., and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. This includes: City Hall, Utility Billing, Library, Recreation Center, Service Center, Environmental, Light & Power, and Justice Court.

All Logan City offices will re-open on Thursday, December 26, 2013.

All Logan City offices will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, for New Year's Day.
