GreenWASTE
There are three GreenWASTE programs:
- Curbside Green Can (April-November)
- City Drop-sites (April-November)
- GreenWASTE facility located at the Logan Landfill (year-round)
GREENWASTE ENDING
Please be aware that the Green Waste collection programs (curbside and city drop-sites) will be ending for the winter months. Curbside services will end starting the week of November 16 with the last pick-up being on your regular waste collection day. The city dropsite roll-off containers will be pulled November 23 & 24. The GreenWaste facility located at the Logan Landfill does not close for the winter. Green waste material includes: grass, leaves, hay, branches, straw, non-invasive weeds and garden produce such as pumpkins. Manure should not be placed in any collection container but rather brought to the Greenwaste Facility. For questions or concerns please call the Environmental Department at 716-9755
Green Waste material includes:
- Grass
- Leaves
- Garden Waste
- Clean Hay & Straw
- Shrubs
- Branches
- Non-invasive Weeds (no morning glory, dyers woad, etc.)
- Manure (only if taken to the GreenWASTE facility.)
Materials Not Accepted with the Green Waste program:
- Rocks & Gravel
- Dirt
- Tree Root Balls
- Sod
- Candy Wrappers, Toys, Garden Hose, or other things that were not once alive
- Plastic bags (please cut open bags of grass & leaves)
- Painted or Treated Wood
- Anything over 6 ft. in length or 12 inched in diameter
Curbside Service
Customers signed up for Curbside GW will receive weekly pickup of your green waste on your regular garbage day April thru November. A Green colored container will be delivered to your home after receiving your request for service. This container will stay at your residence throughout the year even when service is discontinued for the winter.
This program has a required one year commitment with a year round fee of $4 per month. To sign up for the service fill out the form and fax to 435-716-9751, or just call in.
The Curbside GreenWASTE Program is currently available for residents of:
- Logan
- Smithfield
- Hyde Park
- North Logan
- River Heights
- Providence
- Millville
- Nibley
- Hyrum
- Wellsville
*The Curbside GW program may be extended to other areas if sufficient requests are made. To request Curbside GW for your area, please call 435-716-9771.
Green Waste materials are recycled into compost, wood chips, or mulch at the Logan Green Waste Facility.
