The Logan City Environmental Department would like to announce that the decision has been made to discontinue extra curbside recycling collection this holiday season. In previous years, this service was offered as a courtesy to Cache County residents to help accommodate extra recyclables produced during the holiday season. However, participation was low and the extra collection created confusion about recycling schedules. Extra recyclable materials can be saved up for the next collection or taken to the mixed recycling drop site at the Logan Landfill for no charge. Cardboard can be taken to one of the several cardboard drop sites located throughout the County. Recycling will continue on the every other week schedule for the remainder of 2014 and into 2015.
Please keep in mind that bows, ribbons, packing peanuts, bubble mailers, batteries, boxes with plastic windows (please remove the plastic before recycling), foil or metallic materials, old electronics, photo paper, holiday lights, plastic grocery bags, and Styrofoam should NOT be recycled in your blue can. Some of these items may still be recyclable using other means. For more information, call 435-716-9755.
