Burn Permits

Open Burning in Logan City
(Burning of weeds, trees and other yard materials.)

Logan City does not allow open burning within the city limits, except for the Irrigation Companies. Between March 15 and May 30th and again between September 15 and October 30th, the Irrigation companies may request an open burn permit to burn the weeds and other vegetation along the canal banks. Permits will be issued by Logan City and the Irrigation Companies must comply with the regulations set forth on the permit. Any exception to this policy must be granted by the fire chief only and are generally only granted for extraordinary or special circumstances.

Recreational Fire and Pit Permit
(Permits will need to be renewed yearly.)

The term Recreational Fire Pit is the burning of materials other than rubbish with the total fuel area 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height used for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking or similar purposes.

Permits shall be issued by the Logan City Fire Department if the property meets all of the above requirements. There is no charge for the permit and it is good for one year.

For either type of burn permits please call Fire Craig Humphreys at 716-9515.
