Commercial/Industrial Lighting Incentive Program

(updatd frequently, thank you for your patience)

Are you interested in saving money on your lighting costs at your facility?

If so, read the program steps below.

Funding is limited and based on a first come, first served basis.

Step 1:  Contact an Approved Lighting Specialist.  Approved lighting specialists can be found on the list below.  The approved lighting specialist will recommend energy efficient lighting improvements for your facility.  They will work with you to determine the size, scope, and reach for your lighting retrofit.  They will help you fill out a letter of intent and fill out an initial incentive application and submit it to Logan City Environmental Department for review.

Step 2:  File a letter of intent with Logan City Environmental Department’s Conservation Coordinator.  This is available on our website at http://conservation.loganutah.org or you can call our office at 435-716-9792.  This letter lets us know that you are interested in making energy efficient lighting improvements at your facility and are moving forward with the first stages of your project.  This is the first point of contact with our office and at that time we will be able to tell you if we have available funding, etc.  Your approved lighting specialist may help you with this step as well.

Step 3:  A pre-retrofit inspection will be scheduled with you, the individual you have chosen from the lighting specialist list, and an employee of Logan City Environmental Department.  At this time, Logan City Environmental Department will verify the information submitted on the pending application and ensure that the lighting specialist has provided you with the best energy efficient lighting retrofit possible.  If Logan City determines steps could be taken to make the retrofit even more energy efficient, they will work with the lighting specialist in order to make adjustments that will satisfy the customer and Logan City.  This inspection MUST take place BEFORE ANY WORK BEGINS.

Step 4:    Logan City presents the customer with an Incentive Agreement that outlines the terms of the incentive.  Customer arranges for installation within a reasonable amount of time.  Please Note:  The incentive amount is not final until after the post-retrofit inspection has taken place and copies of all invoices are submitted to Logan City.

Step 5:  A post-retrofit inspection will take place as soon as the lighting retrofit installation is complete.  Much like the pre-retrofit inspection, an appointment will be scheduled with Logan City and your chosen lighting specialist to perform the inspection. This inspection must take place prior to receiving an incentive from Logan City.  Copies of all invoices for materials and labor for the retrofit must be itemized and submitted to Logan City prior to recieving an incentive.

Step 6:  The incentive.  If all installations are complete and the post-retrofit inspection goes well, Logan City will post the incentive as a bill credit to your Logan City utility bill within 6 to 8 weeks of completion.  Logan City will issue your facility a certificate indicating that your business has completed an energy efficient retrofit.  They will also issue you a receipt of credit showing the amount of money that has been credited to your Logan City utility bill.
