Uniformed officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and movement of traffic on our
roadways. A patrol officer is often seen stopped next to a vehicle on the side of the roadway. The
officer may have stopped a vehicle after having witnessed the vehicle committing a traffic
offense, or maybe assisting a stranded motorist. They may even be attempting to resolve a road
rage incident. Officers from the patrol division are often the first to arrive at crime scenes.
First aid may need to be rendered and the scene secured.
