Angela Fonnesbeck
Hi. My name is Angela Fonnesbeck and I want to be your next Logan City Council Member.
Logan City and Cache County are growing. I want to make sure we capitalize on the positives and
minimize the negatives. We can do this by:
-
Improving the relationship between Logan City and the surrounding communities, including Utah
State University.
We need to foster the exchange of ideas, and encourage the best and the brightest to remain
viable, active residents of our community.
-
Improving Logan City's Customer Service.
Our City should run like a business. No business stays in business long without good customer
service. Many of our processes and procedures can be streamlined, reducing frustrations for
Logan's residents and producing costs savings for the City.
-
Revitalizing our neighborhoods while simultaneously strengthening our citizens' ties to the
community.
By improving the current Neighborhood Center zone in the Logan Development Plan we fulfill the
original intent of such zones by increasing pedestrian and bike traffic, systematically reducing
miles driven, creating new investment opportunities, increasing our tax base to help support our
aging infrastructure, raise owner occupancy rates and maintain the distinct small town feel of
Logan's neighborhoods.
-
Ensuring representation of all Logan's citizens.
Our local government should be representative of all citizens. At least some of our council
members should be voted on by districts and represent distinct districts.
-
Focusing on aging infrastructure.
Our sewer and waste water lines and lagoons are rapidly deteriorating and in desperate need of
repair. Maintaining roads is a constant and considerable expense. It is time to focus our
resources on repair and improvement of Logan's infrastructure.
-
Developing and Building a Community Dog Park.
Pet owners in our community deserve a pet friendly, safe and clean environment in which to
exercise and socialize our dogs. Dogs who receive regular exercise and socialization are less
likely to be aggressive and noisy. Responsible pet owners recognize that certain responsibilities
come with dog ownership and pet owners will have to take on these responsibilities.
I currently serve as President of the Board for the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, as well as
Chair of the local Judicial Nominating Commission. I have previously served as an attorney coach
for the Logan High Mock Trial Team and board member for the Northern Utah Chapter for Habit for
Humanity. I have served in leadership positions with both the Cache County and Utah State Bar
Associations, and currently serve on a Utah State Bar subcommittee that vets, reviews and proposes
amendments to upcoming or pending family law related legislation. I have been involved in various
other civic organizations. I am a trained and certified mediator.
I choose to live and work in Logan. I was raised in Logan, and although I left for school
purposes,
I returned and my husband and I chose to start businesses here. Logan is a great community and I
want to live in an inclusive, vibrant community where the citizens are vested in the long term
viability and character of our city. I am excited about this process. I am excited about the
opportunity to listen and understand all points of view and incorporate them into the decision
making. I have the experience to serve in leadership positions and am young, energetic and willing
to dedicate the time and effort necessary to be a successful member of the Logan city council. I
look forward to the opportunity to serve and thank you for your support.
