Under general supervision, coordinates and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance services and activities for the Logan City Service Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the full range of building maintenance duties; monitors and maintains facility furnaces and generators throughout the city to ensure proper operation and efficiency; operates the full range of equipment and tools related to assigned activities; coordinates facility maintenance activities with other City departments, division, and with outside agencies; repairs and installs electrical lighting systems and fixtures.
Monitors and maintains maintenance and preventative maintenance records and logs; inspects building facilities to identify building maintenance needs; repair and replace plumbing fixtures; operates various types of automotive and motorized equipment; clears obstructions from water and sewer lines; operates, maintains and repairs a variety of tools and equipment; reads and interprets sketches, diagrams, drawings and blueprints; prepares and paints facilities and equipment as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of the methods, practices, and tools used in building maintenance and repair work.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to building maintenance work.
Knowledge of facility heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
Knowledge of the theory of electricity and the functions of circuits and controls.
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment necessary to perform various construction, repair and maintenance tasks.
Skill in performing a full range of skilled building maintenance and repair work.
Skill in identifying building maintenance needs and taking corrective action.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School GED or equivalent AND experience equivalent to two (2) years of full-time skilled/semi-skilled facilities maintenance work. Must have a valid Utah Operator’s License
