Fire Marshal Craig Humphreys

C HumphriesCraig Humphreys was appointed as Logan City Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal in January 2010.

Craig began his career in 1992 as a charter member of the North Logan Fire Department as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT.  While with the North Logan Fire Department Craig served as Training Officer, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief and Interim Chief.

Craig was hired by Cache County Fire District in 2002 as an Assistant Chief and later Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal. While at Cache County Craig was involved in training, fire prevention, fire suppression, fire investigation, disaster planning and hazardous material mitigation for the unincorporated areas of Cache County. Craig worked with the Planning Commission on community development.

In 2008 Craig was hired as the first full-time Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal for North Logan Fire Department. Craig administrated the annual fire inspection program, investigations and responded to a variety of emergency incidents including: fire, medical, hazardous materials, and special rescue situations.

Craig has worked as a Special Deputy for the Utah State Fire Marshal Office inspecting K-12 schools.  Craig has been an instructor and Certification Tester for Utah Fire and Rescue Academy since 1995.

Craig has an Applied Associates Degree, Fire Officer, an Associates of Science Degree, Fire Science, a Bachelors of Science Degree, Emergency Services Administration, Summa Cum Laude from Utah Valley University and is currently studying a Masters of Human Resources at Utah State University, Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.

Craig currently serves as Vice Chair of the Utah Fire Prevention Board and as a trustee for the Utah Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigations.  Craig has served on the Utah State Building Code Commission and President of the Utah Fire Marshal's Association

Special awards include 2011 Utah Valley University, College of Technology and Computing Valedictorian, 2011 Utah Valley University, College of Technology and Computing Student of Excellence Award.
