Congratulations to Julie Hatch who was selected as the March Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. Julie was selected for her willingness to help out her fellow employees and for her great customer service skills. Julie is a very pleasant person and is always willing to help out with anything at anytime. She does a great job keeping up with all her duties which are piled deep, and she is still optimistic and cheerful. Julie goes the extra mile to make sure things are done well and she is helpful to not only other employees, but to the customers she serves. Julie keeps a busy schedule, and may times takes on extra responsibilities. She often stays late to get billings out on time and she usually knows the answer to your questions or knows how to help you find an answer. Not many people know the extra efforts Julie takes to help our Department run smoothly. Thanks Julie for all your hard work and dedication.

Congratulations to Tony Douglass who was selected as the April Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. Tony is very friendly and always helpful. He keeps up on all the hazardous waste in the sheds and helps the Hazardous waste program run smoothly. He is very dependable; you can always count on Tony to get things done for you. He is very dedicated to his job and is always willing to go pick up tires, pickup the landfill mail, he is trained in scalehouse procedures and helps out there, and in general is willing to help out wherever needed. Nothing is ever left undone that Tony isn’t willing to fix and take care of. Tony never complains and always seems to be in a good mood. He makes work easier for everyone around him and helps make the Landfill a positive environment to work in. Tony is a great addition to the Landfill employees and to the Environmental Department. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Darrell Johnson who was selected as the May Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. Darrell is good at both doing his job and helping others whenever he can. His job keeps him moving all over the county on a daily basis and he does it without complaining and makes sure his job is always done. Darrell is always willing to help out with extra projects such as bringing recycle bins to special events, helping us track the Department archive files, and helping out at the front desk. He always has a smile for us and is a great example of a City employee and a wonderful asset to the Environmental Department. As one fellow employee says: Darrell always has a good attitude and he A #1. Congratulations Darrell!

Congratulations to John Christensen who was selected as the June Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. John was selected for his high energy level and his excellent work ethic. John is very well organized and does an incredible job keeping everything running smoothly. He has good relationships with his employees and is a true leader. If John hears about a problem, he doesn’t wait to be asked to help out, John just jumps in and helps get the job done. John has spent a lot of time making sure the Container Repair building is functioning properly and stays in good condition. The bin yard has been improved greatly under John’s supervision. He is very good about keeping our facilities clean and keeping customers happy. John has been very helpful and cooperative with getting extra bins to and from all the summer events and in keeping these bins in excellent condition. John continually goes above and beyond his responsibilities to make sure things are done right with exceptional quality. As one employee states: “John is one of the hardest working people I know.” Thanks John for all you do.

Congratulations to Tausha Thornton who was selected as the August Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. Tausha was selected for her excellent customer service skills and her knowledge of landfill procedures. She is very good at training new employees and knows a lot about the intricacies of the Scalehouse as well as programs for our department. She is great at communicating with the landfill personnel in a timely manner and helps keep the landfill running smoothly. She works quickly to help push customers through while staying cheerful and friendly with them. She adds a personal touch to the Landfill with her great smile and great attitude towards her work. Many employees have said that she is not only easy to work with but she always gets things done the right way. Thanks for all your years of dedicated work at the Landfill and for keeping it a better place to work.

Congratulations to Robert Jensen who was selected as the September Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department.  Robert's nomination came as a culmination from several employees who have noticed the extra work he does behind the scenes to keep the department running smoothly.  Robert has continued to show versatility by contributing his skills as an equipment operator on projects at the wastewater wetlands and the landfill.  He contributes in other areas as he is adaptable to fill in on the collection routes as a soon as a need is required.  Amazingly, he gives so much of his time filling in and helping his fellow employees and is still able to fulfill his own job responsibilities.  The collection routes have been very organized under his direction and he has mastered the Route Smart Program.  Thanks Robert, for being a team player, for having a good sense of humor, and for not only doing the job; but doing it well.

Congratulations to Janet Taylor who was selected as the Environmental Division Employee of the Month for October 2005. Janet was selected for her multi-tasking skills and fantastic attitude. She has shown great ability to handle the large volume of requests brought to her in the day. There is a never ending stream of complaints and requests on the phone and through the radio and Janet still remains equal to the task on a daily basis. Despite the stressful situations she encounters, she is still able to stay positive and unruffled under pressure. Thanks for your great customer service skills and friendly demeanor in all you do. The department is benefited greatly by your ability to handle so many problems.

Congratulations to Darrell Johnson who was selected as the City of Logan October Employee of the Month. Darrell has been with the city a long time and knows his job well. He does a great job for the Environmental Department and goes out of his way to help others. Darrell works as the Container Maintenance Equipment Operator for the Environmental Department.   He is responsible for the distribution and return of all our new front load containers to the customers, as well as the placement so the drivers can access the containers with little or no trouble when dumping them. Darrell knows where every can and container was placed since the early 1900's and can even tell you the direction it was facing. He does his job very well and is always willing to help out when asked.  Those who have filled in for Darrell when he’s been on vacation say it is a very difficult and trying position and applaud him for the work he does every day. He is always willing to help and goes the extra mile to do his job well. Darrell is very pleasant and is kind to everyone, he is very good at painting by numbers and is loved by his co-workers. Congratulations. Darrell was honored in November at the City Council meeting by Mayor Thompson.

Congratulations to Randy Rigby who was selected as the Environmental Department Employee of the month for November 2005. Randy has worked for the Environmental Department as a residential driver for 10 years and was recently moved to the Landfill as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He has been sorely missed by many of his co-workers. Randy has an incredible memory and is very knowledgeable of the routes, streets, can numbers, and names and addresses of his customers throughout Logan and Cache County. Randy is always on time and willing to pitch in and help out his co-workers. You can always count on Randy to get the job done and go the extra mile. He has a great attitude and kids love to see him dress up as Santa each year. One employee sums up Randy as “He Rocks!”. Thanks Randy for all the extra work you do.

Congratulations to Rex Nielson who was selected as the December 2005 Employee of the Month for the Environmental Department. Rex always does a great job, has a great work ethic and gets along well with his co-workers. He is very reliable and very knowledgeable of every vehicle we operate in our department as well as most of the routes. Rex always keeps his truck looking good and doesn’t complain about tasks. Rex is always done with his work in a timely manner and not only helps his crew finish their routes, but has also helped several times with the residential routes when many of the residential crew has been gone. Rex has an excellent safety record and attendance record and has stayed late many times to help others finish. Many say Rex is the M.V.D., our Most Valuable Driver. Thanks Rex for all your extra efforts.
