Randy Watts was elected Mayor of Logan on November 8, 2005 and has had nearly 4 years experience managing a city of approximately 50,000. A native of Logan, Mayor Watts attended Utah State University in 1966 and then left to enlist in the Air Force. Upon his return he continued his education. He owns and previously operated J.R. Construction for 14 years. He was Vice-President of Cache Valley Builders, the family owned business for 15 years. He served on the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol for 21 years. He also served as Vice-President of Sunshine Terrace Board of Directors and was a member of the Zion’s Bank Advisory Board. Mayor Watts also served as President on the Utah State University Alumni and member of the Utah State University’s Board of Trustees.
During his time in office, Mayor Watts has served as President of the Northern Utah Regional Landfill Authority, board member of Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization, executive board member for wage and salary for Bear River Association of Governments, board member of Utah Trust, and member of the Logan-Cache Airport Authority.
Mayor Watts and his wife Kathie are the parents of four children.
