Under general supervision, enforces all facility policies, rules, and regulations for the Logan Aquatic Center. Reports to Recreation Manager and/or Aquatic Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, enforces all facility policies, rules, and regulations for the Logan Aquatic Center. Report to Recreation Manager and/or Aquatic Coordinator.

Monitors water activities to assure safety and prevent accident or injury to patrons. Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies. Performs first aid as needed. Performs water rescues as needed to prevent mishaps and drowning. Inspects the facility on a daily schedule and reports unsafe conditions and equipment to Aquatic Coordinator or Shift Lead. Complete records and reports as needed. Participates in all staff training and programs. Excellent customer service skills as you will have continuous contact with the public requiring tact and patience.   

Performs a variety of routine cleaning tasks such as: picking up trash, emptying garbage, washing and cleaning windows, and performing general cleanup. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be lifeguard certified and some general experience related to safe swimming, aquatic programs, or related background. Requires the ability to effectively meet and deal with the public, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and the ability to handle stressful situations. Applicants must be strong swimmers and able to maintain the necessary physical condition to do your job. Concentrated mental application required. Applicant must be a self-starter and work well with others. Applicant must be able to work hours determined by a weekly work schedule; this includes morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. 

CERTIFICATIONS: Lifeguard position requires the following current American Red Cross certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid.
