Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU)

share
On September 21, 2021, the Logan Municipal Council approved Ordinance 21-14 to allow Accessory Dwelling Units in conjunction with detached, owner-occupied, single-family dwellings in many areas of the city.

An accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a complete secondary residential unit that can be added to a single-family residential lot.   A complete residential unit includes a living space/bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and shower facilities.
In Logan City, internal ADU's which are ADUs that are located within the primary structure of a single-family home are permitted in certain areas of Logan that meet minimum requirements.  ADUs are only permitted in owner-occupied homes.

The link below provides a map that shows areas of Logan where ADUs are permissible.  Single-family homes in the permitted area must meet additional requirements, such as owner-occupancy, minimum lot size, and parking, to permit the establishment of an ADU.
