Animal Control officers deliver service to pet owners and work to get animals licensed. The valley-wide dispatch and 9-1-1 center is receiving calls for help and processing with the resources of police, fire, and medical response. Though their assignments may vary, these employees have one thing in common: they are dedicated to the safety and well-being of all who live in or visit Logan.
Logan named #1 Safest Metro Area in the West
Logan is considered one of the safest metro areas in the West. Logan, Utah, has approximately 55 violent crimes per 100,000 people. This is in contrast to the most dangerous areas in the Western United States. According to the latest crime data from the FBI, which covers the calendar year 2013, the most dangerous metro area had a rate of 794 violent crimes per 100,000 people. Utah had four metro areas in the West’s Top 10 Safest. Of the total number of violent crimes across the country, 23.5 percent occurred in the West, which is home to 23.5 percent of the nation’s population.
