Becoming a Police Officer
The Logan City Police Department (LCPD) is a diverse and forward-thinking family of 60+ sworn peace officers. This department is committed to meaningful dialogue and participation with community members in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all to enjoy. In a department this size, there are many opportunities for specialty positions, training, and advancement in the Patrol and Investigations Divisions.
Responsibilities for peace officers include but are not limited to:

Patrol to preserve law and order.

Enforce state and municipal laws and ordinances.

Respond to calls for assistance; ie. traffic accidents, assaults, fights, domestic disturbances and other criminal activities.

Arrest and transport suspect(s) with outstanding warrants to jail facilities.

Preserve, secure, investigate and document crime scene data.
