Home Government Mayor's Office Elections Council Candidates Emanuel Amador Herrera
I have been a resident of Cache Valley since 1994, when my parents brought our family from Fontana, California to get us away from all the crime and violence and to have a better life.
As I grew up I got to know the whole valley. I was raised in Smithfield but most of my family lived in Logan or River Heights so we spent most of our time in the Logan area. I have seen how Logan has grown from a small, slow moving, quiet town to the hustling, busy, big city. I started my employment within Cache Valley as Cook & Dishwasher and eventually moving up to construction. After 12 years of living in Cache Valley, I had an opportunity to move to Vernal, Ut. I was sad to leave the place I called home but I knew by moving to Vernal a new life experience would soon come my way.
While In Vernal I worked many long hard hours in the oilfield doing every job imaginable. While in Vernal I had that life experience when I met the love of my life, my wife, Tabatha. She in turn married me and gave me two beautiful children a son (4) and daughter (3). My life was great. And then the "oilfield depression" hit and Vernal basically went under. I had to take care of my family and I knew exactly where to turn and that was home. I was welcomed backed to Logan City and brought with me, my new family in 2016. After being gone for nearly 10 years, the town I had grown up in was almost unrecognizable.
I ended up having back issues after my children came into this world and because I wanted to be the father they deserved and the husband Tabatha deserved, I did all the noninvasive treatments I could to fix the underlying issue but to no avail. I eventually ended up needing a major back surgery (Discectomy), which was performed December 23, 2016, yup 2 days before Christmas. I was very worried and my wife very scared but we prayed that everything would go smoothly with the surgery and our prayers were answered.
So while I was down for the next 4 months for healing, I started asking what I could do to help my family, my friends, my community and neighbors. I started searching and praying. I healed up and went back to work always with thoughts in the back of my head to keep searching. Then one day, my wife told me she had heard that Logan was having elections for City Council. I realized that was the route to go. So here I am trying to make a difference for my family, friends community and neighbors.
