As a resident of Logan's historic downtown neighborhood and current member of the Logan City Planning Commission, I see the challenges presented by a growing population, burgeoning traffic and an economic recession. My choice to run for city council embraces those challenges while remembering the health and vitality of the city. We will grow, but we also need to remember the infrastructure that has to be present to fuel and sustain that growth while maintaining the quality of life for all of our residents.
I have worked at Utah State University for 37 years: in special collections and archives, as a business manager and, currently, as the manager of the comprehensive campaign for Utah State University and as the Director of Planned and Estate Gifts. Each of these positions has given me a respect and love for the history of this valley and those who call it home.
For the past four years, I have served on the Logan City Planning Commission. I have chaired that group for the past two. Prior to that, I was a member of the historic preservation board. I have served on the Eccles Ice Arena Board and currently serve on the Board for CAPSA. Additionally, I teach skiing at Beaver Mountain and serve on several Planned Giving groups statewide.
I am honored to serve the citizens of Logan as a member of the Municipal Council.
