Office of the Chief

Welcome to the Logan City Police Department's web site. Logan is a great community situated in Northern Utah in the center of the Cache Valley and the Northern Utah Wasatch Mountains. Logan City has an elevation of approximately 4775 feet, a population of roughly 50,000 people and a service population of nearly 90,000 people. Logan is the Cache County seat, and home to Utah State University.

Logan City Police Department takes pride as a forward thinking and technologically advanced law enforcement agency. LCPD employs 59 full-time sworn officers, 3 part-time sworn officers, 7 support staff, 3 animal service officers and has one of the most technologically advanced 911 communication centers in the Western United States. Our dispatch center provides 911 and dispatch services for all Cache Valley law enforcement agencies, fire and emergency medical services.

As the Logan City Chief of Police, my personal philosophy is the most successful public safety agencies are those promoting individual and collective integrity, accountability and where individual officers and staff feel empowered to work together to best meet the needs of the community and department. The Chief of Police fosters this process by building interdepartmental and community trust and involvement. Logan City Police Department will be creative as we seek to partner with the citizens we serve in collective problem solving, identifying crime and public safety issues and trends, departmental needs, and to facilitate workable and lasting solutions for the community and Logan City Police Department employees.

Logan City Police Department will continue to focus on crime prevention first, as safety and security is our goal. Logan City Police Department looks for every opportunity to unite in service and for the opportunity to contribute, in a meaningful way, in the pursuit of law enforcement excellence.
